Making money online has never been this easy. With the internet and your mobile phone or a PC, you can profitably build a multimillionaire business right from the comfort of your bedroom. But the problem is where do you start? Or rather, how do you go about it?

You would agree with me that the rate of employment in Nigeria is increasing day after day. So, making money online isn’t a bad idea at all, whether you are an employee, a student, an unemployed graduate. After all, there is no single rich man who has a single source of income.

You spend money each passing day either deliberately or not. Therefore, have multiple sources of income is important.

There are many Nigerians that have turned the internet to an ATM right from the comfort of their home. The possibility of making ends meet from the internet is endless.

There is no doubt that blogging is a very lucrative business. Blogging still ranks the number one opportunity stream to make money online here in Nigeria.

Blogging is of various types. But all boils down to sharing information. As said, bogging could be about anything, ranging from politics, health, food, sports, business, and jokes. Anything you can ever think of writing about.

But then, you need a website to run this business. Once you setup your blog site, you can begin to publish on it. However, you should endeavor to blog about a niche that is profitable and scalable. For example, business, health, and others.  All bogging niches are profitable but not all are very easy to grow. Growing a business blog in Nigeria is much difficult than growing a news blog or entertainment blog. So you need to choose wisely.

Once you start getting a considerable amount of traffic to your blog, then you can monetize it using Google AdSense, which is the most popular means of making money online. Also, you can join affiliate marketing and other paying methods of making money online, like accepting sponsored ads, guest posts, and others.

The good thing about blogging is that if you work hard and build your blog, you will be making money while you sleep. You will wake up and see dollars in your AdSense account. Even while you play, travel or eat, your blog is making money.

All you need to focus on is to find an attractive affiliate network and join. Research about the products they offer and use Google trends or Facebook analytic to know the market demand for the product you want to sign up for. It is that easy. You can then start to promote the product through Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest or any other social media. Note that the country that you are promoting the product will determine the social media platform to use. Freelancing was the first means I made money from the internet. Freelancing is using your skill(s) to render service online and in turn, get paid for doing so.

So, what skill do you have? In my case, I was committed to graphic design, then I developed to website design and today, I also make contributory articles to websites where I get paid for doing so.

To make money from freelancing, all you need is to have a potential skill or talent. You could be a graphic designer like me, a writer, web developer, or you are good at spotting mistakes in people's write up. Then, you are in to make money online as a freelancer. The skills I mentioned are not the only skills you can make money from. There are thousands of them.

If you already have a skill, your next task is to find people who need your skill and market it to them. Or you can register with freelancing websites like Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancer, and Guru and others. Set up your profile on these platforms and start working.

Importantly, as a freelancer, you work from the comfort of your bedroom. The client need not know you or see you. All you need is a comfortable PC or a nice Smartphone and an internet connection.

I know some friends who make the least N50, 000 monthly working as freelancers. But then, you need to be good at what you do and deliver on time to be able to retain your first-time clients.

It is now very common to find people who are making a full time aiming from Social Media marketing. With the way things are going, the social media market will soon replace traditional forms of marketing. So, why not leverage this now and change your financial status?

If you are skilled in any subject matter, the best thing to do is to find people who need that same skill and train them. Creating an online course is very profitable because once created can be used over and over again. However, the difficulty always lies in finding those in need of it. Ecommerce business is the buying and selling of products online. Basically through a website designed for that purpose. If you don’t have enough capital to stockpile your product in a warehouse where customers can come and buy, you can start an eCommerce business. In dropshipping, for instance, you don’t need to have the product.  All you need is to create an online store, copy the details of the product from manufacture and place on your store.
