Without wasting much time let’s now delve into “how to increase sales through social media” which I personally call “The power of social media”
How To Increase Sales Through Social Media
1. Know the importance of social media
The first step to increasing sales through social media is to know its importance to the business. Like the adage that says “Knowledge is power” while another adage says “If you think knowledge is expensive then try ignorance”. For anyone or business to increase its sales through social media, they must first know the importance of social media to business success. If the CEO/Founder of Amazon Jeff Bezos who is the richest man on the planet didn’t discover and know the importance of the internet and social media he wouldn’t have been the richest man on the planet for just selling products online. He has set the pace which top businesses and every business are adapting today.
2. Have a strong/active online and social media presence
Knowing the importance of social media is one thing but having a strong and active social media presence is another thing. As we all know that the rate of buying and selling online has increased drastically over the years with many people buying and shopping online. Many businesses are on social media but yet they have had little or no sales which are as a result of poor an inactive social media presence. Many businesses get sales lead to their physical stores and shops as a result of strong online and social media presence. For any business to increase sales through social media, they must have to make social media presence a top priority.
3. Have a target audience of potential customers

4. Have a marketing and advertising strategy
I don’t need to overemphasize on this because we all know marketing and advertising are very important in every business. In fact, the duo is the live-wire of every successful brand. Want to increase sales through social media? I guess it’s a yes, and then you must have a marketing and advertising strategy to reach your potential customers. You may have a great product but without having the strategy to market and advertise your products to potential customers, many potential customers may never see your products.
In a nutshell, a business without a sign is a sign of no business.
5. Be trustworthy, efficient and reliable
This is key in order to increase sales through social media and must be considered a top priority for the success of your business. It takes a long time to build trust and a short time to destroy it. Many businesses have lost many customers, gone bankrupt and even shut down because of the trust factor, reliability, and efficiency. Every successful business in the likes Amazon, Apple, Microsoft, eBay, Alixpress and many more all have one thing in common which is trustworthiness, efficiency, and reliability.
To build trust in your customers, you should learn to deliver on a promise, under-promise, and over-deliver but never over-promise and under-deliver.
In conclusion, social media has grown past the stage of just chatting. It’s now a powerful tool to explore to reach and get more sales to your business. One remarkable thing about the internet and social media is that your business customers are active and waiting to hear from you. All you need do is to pitch your product/services to them and get started.
Also, remember not to capitalize on increasing sales through social media and becomes sales-oriented without adding value. Follow the 80/20% rules of social media sale.
